Famous existentialist philosopher Soren Kierkegaard once said,” When all the things are lost, with nothing left, you will be in total crisis, at the edge of the abyss, and you will be prepared for faith in God, and make the leap of faith to God."
When do you experience this feeling of being at the edge of the abyss or when you have lost everything? I think when logic fails you. Logic says that you will get rewarded commensurate to your efforts..what if that doesn't happen...what if you are an Iraqi and were about to do the biggest deal of your life and a car bomb exploded in front of you. You survived but the guy with whom you were to do the deal with died....not your fault but none the same, the deal is off...buried with the guy who just died.
A lot of us work hard but only a few succeed. For those who succeed, things are fine but what is the explanation for the people who failed after doing everything right.
The answer is the theory of Karma and accepting the role of another entity in the final outcome of things. And God is the final resting place and a place for solace for all of us who did our best but the results were just not right. You accept that certain things were not in your end and you move on to the next thing.

a little fatalistic, i dont really say that life is fair or that you hold your destiny in your hands, not even saying that there is a divine plan for us, a celestine prophecy or all that happens is for the best, only that there are more answers, dont hunt the wrong ones down...
(hey i removed the earlier one - major typo!! heh heh)
