I went to listen to George Soros in downtown today. The event was full of the richest people of LA. If Titanic at one point of time was carrying the highest net worth individuals of Europe, a similar congregation was there today at the Omni Los Angeles Hotel. All had come to hear the biggest of them all---the king of all hedge fund kings--hoping to get that small tip which would make them the next one to earn 950 million dollars in a day by hedging against a currency.
Alas!! The Soros of modern world has moved on...he does not seem to care much about a billion here or there...at least in public. To all the bankers present in the room, Soros gave a 60 minute talk on contemporary politics. The scene was first of wait, then slight anxiety and then utter disappointment. That killer tip to make loads of money never came. He hinted that dollar might be weak in coming years but who doesn't know that!! Finally, these gold diggers slowly started to slip away..No one gets to waste their time..not even Soros. It doesn't matter that he was talking about something which is also very important. Bottom line is Debits on the left and Credits on the right...and if anyone doesn't talk about that, it doesn't add to the search of even more gold..and the never ending search for El Dorado continues....
